ABOUT THE KZNFC
Established in October 2009 as a Section 21 Not for Profit entity, the KwaZulu Natal Fashion Council
(KZNFC) is strategic local economic development collaboration between the Ethekwini Municipality, Economic Development Unit (EDU) and the KwaZulu Natal Department of Economic Development and Tourism (KZNDEDT) that seeks to advance the fashion and design sector. The KZNFC exists to serve the fashion and design sector in line with global, national and local economic priorities, and seeks to provide a developmental platform for the fashion and design sector. Strategic partnerships and collaboration is central to the KZNFC approach.
KwaZulu Natal is an innovative fashion and design destination that is internationally competitive and sustainable thereby creating a better life for all.
The KZN Fashion Council (KZNFC) in pursuance of its vision provides a suite of strategic development support to the fashion and design sector. It does this specifically through the provision of cutting edge services in the following areas:
LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT
A Board of Directors governs the KZNFC. The operations are led by a steering committee that currently comprises a project management team and representatives from EDU and the KZN DEDT. The KZNFC praises itself on strict legal and regulatory compliance in terms of Section 21 Company Requirements. As an evolving organisation, the Board of Directors seeks to appoint a Programme Director to lead and direct the operations of the KZNFC in line with its defined strategic goals and priorities.
